A single tennis rally typically last anywhere between 3 and 10 seconds on average, with the movements being short quick bursts. Because of this style of game, it’s critical that tennis players fully understand their footwork and body positioning and how one subtle improvement or step can significantly impact their play during a match.

A player can move in any direction off of a reaction and will make a play, but they have to have the speed and agility to act quickly to get ready for the next hit. This is a key element of the game that takes a tremendous amount of hip power and mobility.
